WIFLE is the only non-profit organization representing women in U.S. federal law enforcement. The two WIFLE organizations work together to promote and support women in federal law enforcement. These two tax-exempt organizations form the WIFLE organization.
Women in Federal Law Enforcement, Inc. was incorporated in 1999 as a 501(c)(6) non-profit corporation to serve as a professional organization for women and men in federal law enforcement. It is an outgrowth of the former Inter-agency Committee on Women in Federal Law Enforcement that was created in 1978 and co-sponsored by the U. S. Departments of Justice and Treasury.
The WIFLE Foundation, Inc. was incorporated in 2006 as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, is the educational entity providing for the Annual Leadership Conference, the Scholarship Program, research and other programs. The WIFLE Scholarship Fund, administered by the WIFLE Foundation, Inc., provides scholarships to students pursuing educational opportunities in law enforcement related fields.
